Here’s where I get to tell you, I’m a coffee devotee, and like to create quilts and spend time in the garden on my downtime.
I believe your real moments should be beautifully captured, not just the traditional big moments. My favorite photos are often what others would call the out takes.
MY STORY
I remember being small and taking photos on a lime green Concord camera. I’m not even sure if any of the childhood photos I have stashed away are from that camera!
Flashing forward, I’ve definitely upgraded my camera, more than a few times since then.
I’ll be honest, my goals have shifted from when I started photography.
When I started, it was about learning cool techniques and trying out all the gear I could. While that’s still a big part of my photography life, now being a mom, and watching my daughter’s childhood seem to fly by, and navigating losing beloved family members, something new to focus on has emerged.
Connection. Legacy. Being able to remember those moments and memories that will may be the only thing we get to hold onto one day. The way your grandpa smiles at grandma. The way grandma tucks under your arm when you hug her. Not only the people in the photos with me, but the surroundings. How I wish I’d taken more photos of the spaces we spent so many holidays and just casual days together to remember all the details.
I may just be the photographer for you if you value your connection with your people more than anything.
